Obedience Training By Pioneer K-9
At Segen von Gott German Shepherds, obedience training isn’t just about commands — it’s about building clear communication, trust, and a strong bond between you and your dog. Whether your goal is a well-mannered companion or a dog who listens under pressure, we offer training programs to meet your needs.
Meet The Trainer
I’m Ra Chel Thompson, trainer at Segen von Gott German Shepherds.
My journey with animals began when I was eight years old, riding and showing horses. By my early teens I was training them, and after high school I attended Meredith Manor in West Virginia where I became a certified horse trainer.
Life took me to Marietta, Ohio, where I raised a family and eventually shifted from horses to dogs. My husband grew up with German Shepherds, so naturally we brought one home, and I fell completely in love with the breed. I started attending training classes and quickly realized that working with dogs was something I was meant to do.

Today I am proud to serve as a trainer at Segen von Gott as well as assist other programs as a secondary trainer. I also compete with my dogs in AKC events and love seeing the time and dedication I invest turn into success in both competition and practical use.
My passion lies in service and therapy work, and watching dogs change and improve human lives is what drives me every day. My goal is to help every dog I work with reach its full potential, especially in service and therapy roles.
I hope to help you and your dog in whatever way I can. God Bless!

Our Approach
We train with patience, purpose, and a deep understanding of the German Shepherd breed. Obedience is not about harsh corrections — it’s about clear communication and mutual respect. Our dogs learn to respond with focus, enthusiasm, and reliability, no matter the setting.
Training begins early, with structured socialization and age-appropriate commands. As they grow, we gradually layer in more complex obedience skills, ensuring every dog builds confidence step-by-step. Whether it's sit, down, stay, heel, or recall, we reinforce each behavior with repetition, praise, and real-world application.
